Mike 'Bing' Crosby

Founder & CEO

Mike Crosby has been involved with the Veterans Administration as a volunteer and patient since leaving the US Navy in 2009. Through his annual physicals and persistent requests for prostate cancer screening, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer at the Phoenix VA in October of 2015. Crosby elected to seek treatment outside the VA system because he felt the options being offered at the Phoenix VA in 2015 were not the most current technology and not the best option.

In December 2016, Crosby formed Veterans Prostate Cancer Awareness Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization focused on raising awareness and educating our nation’s heroes about prostate cancer, the number one diagnosed cancer within the VA System. He holds a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and is a 1983 graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School “TOPGUN” and the NATO Allied Air Forces Central Europe “Tactical Leadership Program.”

Our Team

The Leadership of VPCa is comprised of Veterans who have all experienced the journey of prostate cancer. Each has also held positions of leadership in the US Military and has a relationship with their local Veteran Healthcare Administration Medical Center. We know the strengths of the VHA system because we are treated by it. We also live the mission of VPCa to educate and raise awareness around the number one diagnosed cancer in the VHA system, prostate cancer.

Medical Advisory Committee

The VPCa Medical Advisory Committee is intended to be a collaborative organization supporting VPCa’s mission and assisting with the engagement with external advisors specific to the Prostate Cancer Ecosystem. The charter does not limit engagements to within the greater VHA but also includes the Private Healthcare Industry. The VPCa Medial Advisory Committee is to act as a “Sounding Board” for VPCa to ensure our mission, goals, and activities are supportive, and acceptable to those practicing medicine, and leading the care for Veterans with prostate cancer.
